Open-eGov Sandbox
A place to test and evaluate the functionality of Open-eGov.
Welcome
This sandbox is made available for you, a potential or current Open-eGov user, to try out any of the features provided by Open-eGov without having to install Open-eGov locally. This sandbox will be reinitialized each Monday morning so that garbage content doesn't collect endlessly over time.
Logging In
Several logins are provided with various roles for you to see how the roles function. We hide the standard Plone login portlet by default. You can go to login_form to login. The user ids, passwords, roles, and functions are:
| User Id | Password | Roles |
Function |
| creator | creator | Member | Can create content in any department |
| reviewer | reviewer | Member, Reviewer | Can create and publish content in any department |
| publisher | publisher | Executive Publisher | Can create and publish emergency messages; can publish and reorder spotlights and promotions on the portal front page |
| manager | manager | Member, Reviewer, Manager | Can create and publish content anywhere on the site |
Getting Started
A working city department ( City Manager ) with content is provided where you can view proper placement of content so that it is available as designed by the product.
Go to this list of departments to see the other departments available for you to test. Note that the list only shows departments that are in a published state. If you click on a department and it takes you to this page, that is because the department does not contain a front-page and it is defaulting to this page.
These features can be used at the portal root in addition to being used within a department:
Emergency Messages should only be created in the Emergency folder at the root and are only visible to anonymous users.
